Writing a research proposal Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Writing a research proposal - Essay Example In this regard, this proposal will dwell much on the effectiveness of using internet in fostering English learning and reading in high school in Sydney, Australia. This study is important as it will try to show whether the most used means of communication and information sharing can have a significant contribution towards better grades in high schools. Further, it will leave the option of using other means of learning to the schools incase it doesnââ¬â¢t have any impact. According to James, J. (2000), the Internet is a new and an expanding tool for learning which if well utilized according to the intended needs then it can transform the world to a global village in terms of knowledge and learning skills. To him, a study done on the effectiveness of the internet in learning had no significant reason as to why it should not be believed to be a tool which is effective. To Vargo, J (2007), internet technologies provide a sound foundation on which to build more effective and efficient educational programmes which can enhance students learning and understanding what they are learning. Internet in its capacity as a tool is like a ripple on the surface of education in that, it offers an intellectual challenge which can be said to be an educational history of the whole mankind (Arsham, H 2007). According to him, the importance of internet in education system and in particular the use of the Web is a well known fact. In the internet according to Arsham, H (2007), a wealth of resources as well as techniques do exist which act as sources of both new practices and easily accessible methods which can be adopted for the various formats learning and understanding. According to him further, the internet technology allows students keep up with their minds while letting them try their ideas once they come up with them. In general, students should appreciate

Establish the terms of the contract between Yardly and BALIOL Case Study
Establish the terms of the contract between Yardly and BALIOL - Case Study Example It could be said that a fiduciary relationship is found where one party reasonably places his trust and reliance in another party to act in a loyal manner conducive to his best interests. However, useful though that definition could prove, Jill Martin may be being more realistic where she says that 'it may sometimes appear that the defendant may classified as a fiduciary, or not, in order to achieve the desired result.' As such the judiciary's approach to the fiduciary relationship might be best understood as an example of a purposive approach to the law where they have attempted to give effect to the spirit of the law as opposed to any strict definition. Under the rule in Keech v Sandford it is assumed that a fiduciary acts voluntarily and cannot charge for their time and trouble , but the law has long recognised that some fiduciary relationships require remuneration of some sort and it would be nave to suppose otherwise. In Robinson v Pett it was held that if a fiduciary could show a specific entitlement to remuneration they would receive it and similarly a fiduciary will receive any out of pocket expenses incurred doing business in their fiduciary capacity . If in a trust situation the beneficiaries are all sui juris and there is no possibility of undue influence they may agree to the trustee being paid. Under s29 of the Trustee Act 2000 a trust corporation is entitled to receive reasonable remuneration if there is nothing specifying otherwise, and a professional trustee who is neither the sole trustee, nor a corporation, may also receive such remuneration if all the other trustees consent in writing. The court also has an inheren t jurisdiction to order payment of fiduciaries if it feels that such payment is reasonable In most fiduciary relationships where remuneration is involved there will be an express clause, either in the trust instrument (which professional trustees can insert following the Trustee Act 2000), the articles by through which one party becomes a fiduciary, or in the contract of employment as in the case of a solicitor, thus circumventing the rule that a fiduciary may not make a profit. BY the rule of Equity, it clearly states that: "It is an inflexible rule of Equity that a person in a fiduciary position is not, unless expressly provided, entitled to make a profit; he is not allowed to put himself in a position where his interest and duty conflict." With Yardley's case, he violated the rule of Equity wich includes that trustee's have a duty not to make an unauthorised profit. However it is felt that the rigorous application of the rule can inflict considerable hardship, often in cases where it may seem somewhat unjust to do so. Unauthorized profit is defined as unlawful use of money or assets beyond the original agreed upon terms or purpose of the money or asset. It is necessary to investigate if Yardley purchased any properties or assets during the time of his departure from the company including the amounts of each asset or property. The basic rule that fiduciary is not allowed to make an unauthorised profit was established in the case of Yardley v BALIOL where there was a dispute over the company money entrusted to YArdley for wage management of the same company. In this case a trustee held the money on trust for a
Critical Commentary on National Trust Annual Report 2011-2012 Essay
Critical Commentary on National Trust Annual Report 2011-2012 - Essay Example By looking at the Trust Report it is brought out in by the diversity of the priority programs that National Trust has. They have been developed to meet the strategy set by the Trust to achieve its goals mentioned before. The priority programmes include bringing places to life. This strategy can be equated with the social aspect of the model as argued by Brent (2010, pg 218) that,â⬠A flat notion of social implies that all ââ¬Ëbeingââ¬â¢ is interactive. And that all actors are simultaneously produced by other actor.â⬠This means that all perspective of bringing places to life is codependent on the all the other factors in which all of the priorities are in a chain that each depends on the other to work failure in which all the other structures will suffer. With the improving conservation and environmental performance being one of the main model of heritage the Trust ensures that all the goals concerning the environment is covered in each of the strategies they have so that the environmental conservation is not only left to function on its own but rather it is made in a state that it works in all the strategies spread out case in point is the properties section where they have to adhere to a set of policies governing the environmental and this can be implemented by the improving conservation and environmental performance section. This is mainly governed by the overall energy reduction and also by conservation performance indicator which checks the activities done that enhances conservation of the environment. By staff satisfaction in their works, operational management satisfaction and volunteer recommendation will propel investing in people as an objective. The fourth objective which is financing the future the sustainability in the long term and not being wasteful is guaranteed and this can be achieved through an increased net gain, membersââ¬â¢ numbers getting high, efficiency which will cut down the costs and also investing in properties th at beat the baseline target. The political aspect is related to the financial aspect of the Trust priorities as it relates with the politics of running the Trust with the finance made from all the respective sections and in return it is what will be used for expenditure of the Trust even as it makes the return as the income made. The data captured by the National Trust performance index indicates the overall target by the Trust and the expectation from each of the objectives set and this will explain how each department is related to one another and whenever each section underperforms, the other section will have to play catch up or try to recover the revenue lost from one section. A good example is the Visitors enjoyment score, net promoter score and relevance to the local community. All the said sections performed poorly mainly because the visitors did not play their part in recommending the Trust to their peers as this was shown by the high number of membership and good income bu t low scores when it comes to the visitors and membersââ¬â¢ part. Also the other areas indicate the level of which the members partake in relation to tourism as not many of them have fully participated in visiting the areas managed by the Trust. Some of the unique milestone programmes for the company

The supply chain management failure of Boeing787 Research Paper
The supply chain management failure of Boeing787 - Research Paper Example The Boeing 787, a revolutionary aircraft, is a product of such operations as the Boeing Company decided to increase their value by creating the Dreamliner to counter some of the cost-reducing airline companies (Crown, 2008). However, the 787 Dreamliner has been marred with problems, and engineers believe that these problems emanate from their outsourcing operations. This paper will examine the failure of the supply chain of the 787 Dreamliner, and find out what was done to avert the complete collapse of the Dreamlinerââ¬â¢s rise. Increase in competition among the airline companies present has forced companies to look for alternative means to increase their revenue. The Boeing Company is no exception. Upon realization that it would be harder to maintain its top position in the aviation industry, the company chose between two strategies that would ensure its survival and growth in the market. Between reducing the cost and selling price of their aircraft and developing a new one in order to increase its revenue through value creation in the airline industry, Boeing chose to go with the latter. Through the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the company would be in a position to give their customers a travel experience unlike any other. Its design was meant to ensure that long-haul flights were possible without the layovers that usually characterize such flights (Norris et al., 2005). This would have been perfect for their international customers. Furthermore, operational efficiency would ensure that passengers would be provided with nonstop economical flights in between cities, which would ensure low costs, and an increase in customer demand. As the benefits of the Dreamliner became evident, the unexpected number of orders from the airline industry took the company by surprise. As a global aircraft manufacturer, Boeing did not want to disappoint. In late 2007, however, the company decided to announce delays in the development of the Dreamliner. The news was received
